A short biography


Dr. Xiaonan Wang gained his MD and MS from China Medical College and Peking Union Medical College, China.  She finished her post-doc training in the University of Colorado HSC, Denver, CO and in Emory University, Atlanta, GA.  Currently, Dr. Wang is an Associate Professor of Renal Division, Department of Medicine, Emory University. She has published 79 papers in peer review journal.  Dr. Wang has received funding from the NIH (R01 and R21), the American Society of Nephrology, American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association and Satellite Research Extramural Grant.  She also participated in study sections for the National Institutes of Health (USA), Wellcome Trust (UK), Fondazione Telethon (Italy), Kidney Research UK (UK), Binational Science Foundation (United States-Israel) and Research Grants Council (Hong Kong).  Dr. Wang has focused on investigation of the molecular/cellular mechanisms that lead to protein malnutrition in chronic kidney disease, diabetes and aging in order to develop therapeutic strategies for treatment.
