Giacomo Garibotto, MD, Adjunct Professor (2020-) and Professor of Nephrology (2010-2020) at the University of Genoa, Italy. Head of the University of Genoa School of Nephrology (2002-2020).He did his medical school at the University of Genoa, Italy. He serves the editorial board of many nephrology journals including J Nephrol, J Ren Nutr, BMC Nephrol, J Clin Med, Giornale Italiano di Nefrologia, Minerva Urologica e Nefrologica. Awards: EDTA (1978), International Society of Blood Purification (1997), ISN/Baxter Extramural Program (1996, 2002, 2007), Fresenius-Kabi (2012). He has spoken at local, national and international meetings and authored or co-authored over 215 publications and several book chapters, in the fields of biochemistry of renal function, protein and amino acid metabolism, clinical nutrition, pathophysiology of chronic kidney disease, renal physiology, diabetic nephropathy, and kidney transplantation.
