Dr. Sumida is an Associate Professor in the Division of Nephrology, the Department of Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He currently serves as the chair of the ISRNM patient resources committee and a member of the ISRNM education and publication committees. His research interests are centered on epidemiology and outcomes, gut-kidney-heart axis, bone and mineral disorders, detecting modifiable, non-traditional risk factors, and identifying optimal care in chronic kidney disease through clinical studies.
