Dr. Hung is currently a Professor of Nephrology at Tzu Chi University, Hualien, Taiwan. He is also currently the Chief of Division of Nephrology at Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital, Taiwan. He obtained his MD from Taipei Medical University in 1996 and then completed his internship, residency, and nephrology training at Taipei Veterans General Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and has won several awards for research. He has published over 50 articles in index journals including Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, JASN, Kidney International, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, and Clinical Nutrition. His major research interests are malnutrition, salt and water balance, and gut microbiota in chronic kidney disease.
