Dr. Price is the associate dean for research and graduate studies in the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. In his role, he provides leadership for Brody’s extensive research enterprise. Before his current role, Price was the associate vice chair for research for the department of internal medicine at Emory University and was also professor of medicine in the division of nephrology. Having authored more than 130 publications and book chapters, Price is a recognized leader in his field. His research is directed towards explaining the mechanisms that cause muscle loss in chronic conditions such as end-stage kidney disease and diabetes. He currently serves on the editorial boards of The Journal of Renal Nutrition and the American Journal of Physiology – Cell Physiology; he previously served on editorial boards for the Journal of Biological Chemistry, American Journal of Physiology – Renal Physiology, Kidney International and the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology. Price is the President-elect of the International Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism.
